Sensex pares gains, now up 129pts

The Sensex has pared some gains and is now up 129 points at 10,938.

The index touched a high of 10,992, after opening with a positive gap of 46 points at 10,855.

HDFC has rallied over 4% to Rs 1,222. Hindalco has surged 3.5% to Rs 191, and Tata Steel has added 2.6% to Rs 552.

Larsen & Toubro has moved up 3% to Rs 2,434. Hero Honda has zoomed nearly 3% to Rs 850.

ONGC and ACC have added 2.3% each to Rs 1,203 and Rs 818, respectively.

Satyam, Tata Power and HDFC Bank are up around 2% each at Rs 693, Rs 506 and Rs 787, respectively.

Out of 2,130 stocks traded so far, 1,577 have advanced, 507 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
