The Sensex has pared some of its gains and is now up 134 points at 10,205. The index had touched a high of 10,342 - up 331 points from the day's low of 10,011 - in early trades this morning. HDFC has rallied nearly 6% to Rs 1,176. Maruti has surged over 4% to Rs 709. Tata Motors and ONGC are up 3.7% each at Rs 761 and Rs 1,116, respectively. Hindalco has added 3% to Rs 172. Tata Motors and Bajaj Auto have advanced 2.7% each to Rs 761 and Rs 2,690, respectively. Tata Power has dropped 2.5% to Rs 472, and Reliance Energy has slipped 2% to Rs 459. Dr.Reddy's and Cipla are down over 1.5% each at Rs 1,302 and Rs 216, respectively. Larsen & Toubro has declined over 1% to Rs 2,155. The market breadth continues to remain negative - out of 2,098 stocks traded so far, 1,719 have declined, 340 have advanced and the rest are unchanged. |
