Sensex pares gains, now up 209pts

The Sensex has pared gains owing to intra-day profit-taking after touching a high of 11,900. The index is now up 209 points at 11,856.

Cipla stands still with at Rs 261 - up over 5%. ONGC has surged 3.7% to Rs 1,371. Bajaj Auto and HDFC have rallied over 3% each to Rs 2,925 and Rs 1,295, respectively.

Grasim and Tata Motors are up 2.7% each at Rs 2,362 and Rs 941, respectively.

Infosys, Hindalco, Wipro and Maruti also continue to hold solid gains.

Ranbaxy has dropped 1% to Rs 476. Larsen & Toubro is down nearly 1% at Rs 2,670.

Out of 2,440 stocks traded so far, 1,615 have moved up, 758 have declined and 67 are unchanged.
