The Sensex has pared gains and is now up 77 points at 11,000.
Earlier in the day the Sensex opened positive at 11,065, but soon slipped into the negative zone to a low of 11,008. The index however rebounded into the positive zone on the back of fresh buying in realty and metal stocks. The index moved up to touch a high of 10,210.
Jaiprakash Associates has rallied over 6.5% to Rs 120. Reliance Infrastructure has surged over 6% to Rs 700. Tata Motors has advanced around 4%(Rs 9).
Reliance Communications, Tata Steel, Larsen & Toubro and Sterlite have gained around 3% each at Rs 225, Rs 265 and Rs 892 and Rs 399, respectively.
ICICI Bank, SBI, HDFC and DLF are up around 2% each at Rs 449, Rs 1,332 ,1088 and Rs 235, respectively.
Maruti, BHEL, ONGC,Infosys and Wipro are also the other notable gainers.
However, Sun Pharma has declined aound 1.5% at Rs 1,188. NTPC, Hindustan Unilever and ITC are down nearly 1% each.
