Sensex pares gains, up 117pts; Wipro up 6%

The Sensex has pared gains and is now up 117 points at 15,867.

The NSE Nifty is up 34 points at 4,788.

Wipro has zoomed nearly 6% to Rs 438, and Satyam has soared over 5% to Rs 429. TCS has surged 3.6% to Rs 882, and Infosys has gained 2.6% at Rs 1,521.

Hindalco has rallied over 3% to Rs 172. Tata Steel and ONGC have moved up over 2.5% each to Rs 664 and Rs 1,037, respectively.

Reliance, Hindustan Unilever and Jaiprakash Associates have advanced around 2% each to Rs 2,394, Rs 240 and Rs 237, respectively.

Reliance Communications, ICICI Bank and HDFC Bank are up around 1% each at Rs 525, Rs 792 and Rs 1,334, respectively.

BHEL has plunged 3.6% to Rs 1,785. Maruti and Reliance Energy have slipped around 3% each to Rs 787 and Rs 1,194, respectively.

Tata Motors has declined 1.5% to Rs 629.

The market breadth is marginally positive - out of 2,479 stocks traded so far, 1,241 have advanced, 1,182 have declined and 56 are unchanged.
