Sensex pares gains, up 126pts; ACC up 5%

The Sensex has pared gains and is now up 126 points at 18,174. The index had touched a high of 18,314 in early noon trades.

The Nifty is up 38 points at 5,315.

ACC has soared 5% to Rs 794, and Ranbaxy has surged 3% to Rs 408.

TCS has rallied 2.8% to Rs 876, and Grasim has added 2.4% to Rs 2,855.

Cipla has moved up 1.8% to Rs 188. Hindustan Unilever, Wipro and Reliance have gained 1.6% each at Rs 220, Rs 421 and Rs 2,592, respectively.

Reliance Energy has slipped 1.3% to Rs 1,675.

Out of 2,721 stocks traded so far, 1,854 have advanced, 798 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
