Sensex pares gains, up 136pts; ITC slips 2%

The Sensex pared gains and is now up 136 points at 18,656. The index had touched a high of 18,910.

DLF has zoomed nearly 4% to Rs 855. Reliance Energy and HDFC have soared 3.7% each to Rs 1,665 and Rs 2,655, respectively.

Tata Motors has rallied 3.3% to Rs 715, and Larsen & Toubro has surged nearly 3% to Rs 4,055.

Infosys has gained 2.7% at Rs 1,573. NTPC and Bajaj Auto have moved up over 2% each to Rs 233 and Rs 2,522, respectively.

HDFC Bank has dropped 2.7% to Rs 1,552. Maruti and ITC have slipped nearly 2% each to Rs 949 and Rs 182, respectively.

ICICI Bank is down 1% at Rs 1,115.

Out of 2,746 stocks traded so far, 1,810 have advanced, 881 have declined and 55 are unchanged.
