Sensex pares gains, up 155pts

The Sensex has pared gains and is now up 155 points at 15,512. The index had touched a high of 15,688.

The NSE Nifty is up 41 points at 4,664.

DLF has zoomed 5.3% to Rs 639. Jaiprakash (JP) Associates has soared nearly 4% to Rs 227, and Satyam has surged 3.5% to Rs 377.

ITC has gained 2.5% at Rs 190. NTPC and Larsen & Toubro have rallied over 2% each to Rs 191 and Rs 2,868, respectively.

ICICI Bank has moved up 1.8% to Rs 853. Infosys, Reliance, Tata Motors and ITC have advanced around 1.5% each to Rs 1,355, Rs 2,275, Rs 629 and Rs 707, respectively.

ONGC, Hindalco and ACC are up over 1% each at Rs 978, Rs 176 and Rs 787, respectively.

Bharti Airtel has plunged 3.4% to Rs 752. Maruti and Mahindra & Mahindra have slipped around 2.5% each to Rs 819 and Rs 645, respectively.

BHEL has shed 1.6% at Rs 1,852.

Out of 2,679 stocks traded so far, 1,694 have declined, 917 have advanced and 68 are unchanged.
