Sensex pares gains, up 18pts

The Sensex has erased most of its gains and is now up 18 points at 13,400.

The index has touched a high of 13,568 in the opening trades.

ITC has gained nearly 2% at Rs 172. TCS and ONGC have advanced 1.3% each to Rs 1,156 and Rs 857, respectively.

Cipla, Wipro, SBI and Bharti Airtel are up 1% each to Rs 244, Rs 573, Rs 1,242 and Rs 610, respectively.

BHEL has slipped nearly 2% to Rs 2,245. HDFC Bank has declined 1.5% to Rs 1,024.

Out of 1,964 stocks traded so far, 1,152 have advanced, 754 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
