Sensex pares gains, up 191pts

The Sensex has pared some gains and is now up 191 points at 9,055.

The BSE Realty index has soared over 8% to 1,592. The Metal index has surged nearly 5% to 5,216, and the Capital Goods index has rallied over 4% to 6,144.

DLF and Jaiprakash Associates have zoomed around 9% each to Rs 174 and Rs 81, respectively. Sterlite has soared 6.7% to Rs 312.

Reliance Infrastructure and Tata Steel have rallied around 2.5% each to Rs 490 and Rs 178, respectively.

Hindalco and BHEL have moved up around 5% each to Rs 46 and Rs 1,467, respectively.

 

ICICI Bank has advanced 4.5% to Rs 338. Larsen & Toubro and Reliance Communications, have gained 4% each at Rs 642 and Rs 164, respectively.

Tata Motors has added nearly 4% to Rs 179, and Reliance is up 3.5% at Rs 1,346.

Wipro, TCS and HDFC Bank are also up around 3% each.

Mahindra & Mahindra has plunged 3.7% to Rs 364. Tata Power is down over 1% at Rs 669.

The market breadth is extremely positive - out of 2,499 stocks traded so far, 1,628 have advanced, 780 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
