Sensex pares gains, up 30pts

The Sensex has pared gains and is now up 30 points 13,959.

SBI has soared 3.7% to Rs 1,269. HDFC Bank has advanced 2.4% to Rs 1,034, and ICICI Bank has added 1.5% to Rs 900.

BHEL has surged 3% to Rs 2,593. Reliance Communications has rallied 2.3% to Rs 486, and Hindalco have gained 1.8% at Rs 148.

HLL and Bajaj Auto are the other prominent gainers.

Hero Honda has tumbled 3% to Rs 677. TCS and Infosys have slipped around 1.5% each to Rs 1,217 and Rs 1,942, respectively.

Gujarat Ambuja, Maruti and Tata Steel are down over 1% each at Rs 122, Rs 798 and Rs 585, respectively.

Out of 2,550 stocks traded so far, 1,541 have advanced, 924 have declined and 85 are unchanged.
