The Sensex has pared some of its gains and is now up 335 points at 15,462.
The BSE Realty index has slipped around 2% to 3,758.
HDFC Bank has zoomed 5.7% to Rs 1,496.
BHEL, ACC and Tata Power are up 5% at Rs 2,370, Rs 893 and Rs 1,149, respectively.
Reliance Communications, Ranbaxy, Larsen & Toubro, Reliance Infrastructures and Hindustan Unilever have added over 3.5% each at Rs 345, Rs 294, Rs 1,630, Rs 1,190 and Rs 265, respectively.
DLF has slipped 2% to Rs 394 and Tata Motors has dropped 1.5% to Rs 362.
Breadth has now turned negative, out of 2,808 shares traded, 1,168 have advanced and 1,587 have declined so far on the BSE.
