The Sensex opened with a huge significant positive gap of 300 points at 10,931 in line with other Asian markets. The index touched a high of 10,945, and has now pared gains and is up 40 points at 10,671.
ICICI Bank has surged over 5% to Rs 483. Jaiprakash Associates and Reliance Infrastructure have rallied over 4.5% each to Rs 94 and Rs 568, respectively.
Hindalco, DLF and ONGC have moved up around 4% each to Rs 67, Rs 302 and Rs 792, respectively.
HDFC Bank, Larsen & Toubro and Tata Power have advanced nearly 3% each to Rs 1,142, Rs 949 and Rs 772, respectively.
Satyam has shed 3% at Rs 270. Reliance Communications has slipped over 1.5% to Rs 246.
Infosys and TCS are down 1% each at Rs 1,317 and Rs 503, respectively.
