Sensex pares gains, up 439pts

The Sensex has pared some gains and is now up 439 points at 18,681.

The NSE Nifty is up 150 points at 5,467.

Reliance Communications has zoomed 8% to Rs 660, and Wipro has soared 7% to Rs 468.

DLF has surged 6.5% to Rs 867. Ambuja Cements has gained 5% at Rs 125.

SBI and NTPC have rallied 4.7% each to Rs 2,289 and Rs 215, respectively.

Grasim, Tata Steel and TCS have moved up 4.3% each to Rs 3,140, Rs 810 and Rs 969, respectively.

Ranbaxy, ONGC, Satyam and Infosys have advanced nearly 4% each to Rs 374, Rs 1,085, Rs 437 and Rs 1,650, respectively.

Mahindra & Mahindra and BHEL are up around 3% each at Rs 695 and Rs 2,126, respectively.

Out of 2,788 stocks traded so far, 2,299 have advanced, 453 have declined and 36 are unchanged.
