Sensex pares gains, up 50pts

The Sensex has pared most of its gains and is now up 50 points at 14,918.

Ambuja Cements has soared nearly 3% to Rs 130. Hindustan Unilever has surged over 2% to Rs 200.

NTPC and HDFC have rallied around 1.5% each to Rs 167 and Rs 1,975, respectively.

BHEL and Tata Steel are up 1% each at Rs 1,712 and Rs 642, respectively.

Infosys has slipped over 1% to Rs 1,930. Wipro and TCS are the other prominent losers.

Out of 2,406 stocks traded so far, 1,667 have advanced, 680 have declined and 59 are unchanged.
