Sensex pares gains, up 56pts

The Sensex has pared some of its gains and is now up 56 points at 11,588. The index had touched a high of 11,635.

SBI has advanced 3.6% to Rs 906. Hero Honda has added 1.3% to Rs 722.

Tata Steel, Reliance Energy, Larsen & Toubro, Grasim and Reliance are up around 1% each at Rs 524, Rs 461, Rs 2,381, Rs 2,218 and Rs 1,117, respectively.

HDFC Bank and Tata Motors have slipped nearly 1% each to Rs 846 and Rs 853, respectively.

Out of 2,252 stocks traded so far, 1,515 have advanced, 672 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
