Sensex pares gains, up 59pts

The Sensex has pared some of its gains and is now up 59 points at 12,425. The index had touched a high of 12,482 in the opening trades.

HDFC, Dr.Reddy's, Maruti, ACC, Grasim and Infosys have advanced around 1.5% each to Rs 1,415, Rs 718, Rs 955, Rs 995, Rs 2,596 and Rs 1,924, respectively.

NTPC has moved up 1.3% to Rs 131. Bharti Airtel and Ranbaxy are up 1% each at Rs 469 and Rs 424, respectively.

HLL has slipped 1.3% to Rs 240.

Out of 2,397 stocks traded so far, 1,646 have advanced, 667 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
