Sensex pares gains, up 5pts

The Sensex has pared all its gains and is now up five points at 14,549

The Sensex is now up 68 points at 14,612.

Satyam has surged 2.8% to Rs 483. Cipla has advanced 2.4% to Rs 223, and SBI have added 2% to Rs 1,381.

BHEL has gained 1.8% at Rs 1,424. Gujarat Ambuja and HDFC Bank have moved up 1.4% each to Rs 115 and Rs 1,155, respectively.

ICICI Bank and Infosys are up over 1% each at Rs 931 and Rs 1,940, respectively.

Hero Honda has plunged 1.8% to Rs 719. ITC and Tata Motors have slipped around 1.5% each to Rs 161 and Rs 746, respectively.

Out of 2,596 stocks traded so far, 1,434 have advanced, 1,061 have declined and 101 are unchanged.
