Sensex pares gains, up 60pts; ACC slips 3%

The Sensex has pared gains and is now up 60 points at 12,640. The index had touched a high of 12,741 in the opening trades.

ICICI Bank has rallied 2% to Rs 844. HDFC Bank, Hindalco, Gujarat Ambuja, Reliance, Bajaj Auto, Dr.Reddy's and Wipro have advanced around 1.5% each to Rs 930, Rs 129, Rs 106, Rs 1,309, Rs 2489, Rs 643 and Rs 564, respectively.

HLL and ONGC are up 1% each at Rs 170 and Rs 773, respectively.

ACC has shed 2.7% to Rs 792, and Maruti has slipped 2.4% to Rs 758.

Tata Steel has dropped 1.5% to Rs 407. Grasim is down over 1% to Rs 2,080.
