Sensex pares gains, up 64pts; breadth turns -ve

The Sensex has pared most of its gains and is now up 64 points 12,428.

Infosys has surged over 4% to Rs 1,987. TCS has rallied 3.5% to Rs 1,046. Satyam has gained 2.5% at Rs 418, and Wipro has added 2% to Rs 531.

HDFC has advanced 1.7% to Rs 1,438. HDFC Bank is up nearly 1% at Rs 947.

Gujarat Ambuja has dropped 2.7% to Rs 120. Tata Motors has shed 1.7% to Rs 897.

Hindalco, BHEL, Bajaj Auto, Hero Honda, SBI, Ranbaxy and Larsen & Toubro are down over 1% each to Rs 173, Rs 2,310, Rs 3,035, Rs 743, Rs 1,017, Rs 419 and Rs 1,269, respectively.

The market breadth has turned negative - out of 2,393 stocks traded so far, 1,313 have declined, 1,008 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.
