Sensex pares gains, up 68pts; breadth turns -ve

The Sensex has pared gains mainly on account of selling in Infosys. The index is now up 68 points at 13,537, after touching a new all-time intra-day high of 13,588.

HDFC Bank has soared 4.7% (Rs 51) to Rs 1,129. SBI has surged 3.7% to Rs 1,222, and ICICI Bank has added 2.4% to Rs 902.

ACC has soared 4% to Rs 1,060. Gujarat Ambuja and Grasim are up around 1% each at Rs 139 and Rs 2,732, respectively.

Satyam has advanced over 2% to Rs 436, and Wipro has spurted over 1% to Rs 553.

NTPC and HDFC are up 1% each at Rs 135 and Rs 1,545, respectively.

Infosys has slipped over 2% (Rs 48) to Rs 2,175. Ranbaxy and Tata Motors are the other prominent losers.

The market breadth has turned negative - out of 2,565 stocks traded so far, 1,313 have declined, 1,169 have advanced and 83 are unmoved.
