Sensex pares gains, up 72pts

The Sensex has pared gains and is now up 72 points at 12,527. The index had touched a high of 12,584.

NTPC has surged 2.5% to Rs 151. Tata Motors and BHEL have advanced 1.5% each to Rs 679 and Rs 2,185, respectively.

Reliance Communications, Infosys, Wipro, ITC and HDFC Bank are up 1% each at Rs 401, Rs 1,941, Rs 524, Rs 148 and Rs 910, respectively.

ICICI Bank and Bajaj Auto have slipped 1.5% each to Rs 792 and Rs 2,267, respectively.

ACC and Cipla are down 1% each at Rs 697 and Rs 223, respectively.
