Sensex pares gains, up 90pts

The Sensex has pared gains and is now up 90 points at 17,241.

Tata Steel has soared over 7% to Rs 853. Reliance Energy has surged nearly 5% to Rs 1,172.

Hindalco has gained 3.5% at Rs 170. ITC has moved up 2.8% to Rs 190.

Ranbaxy and SBI have advanced around 2.5% each to Rs 431 ande Rs 1,932, respectively.

Maruti and Reliance Communications have rallied over 2% each to Rs 998 and Rs 596, respectively.

Cipla has added 1.7% to Rs 179. ICICI Bank is up 1.5% at Rs 1,044.

Reliance has plunged 1.8% to Rs 2,278. Bajaj Auto has declined 1.4% to Rs 2,494.

Mahindra & Mahindra is down 1% at Rs 745.
