Sensex plunges over 100pts; Wipro up 3%

The Sensex has recovered smartly to touch a high of 9304, but soon slipped back to lower levels. All round selling in the market saw the index plunge to a low of 9203.

The index is now down 106 points at 9208.

Wipro is the sole gainer among the Sensex stocks following its Q3 numbers. The stock touched a high of Rs 467, and is now up 3% at Rs 463 with a volume of around 2.35 lakh shares.

Infosys has slipped 1.2% to Rs 2,728. Satyam at Rs 721 and TCS at Rs 1,613 are also trading in the negative zone.

Reliance, in its special one-hour trading session had closed at Rs 714. The stock is now down 1.5% at Rs 703.

Reliance Energy has shed 2% to Rs 597. Tata Power at Rs 445 and NTPC at Rs 110 are down nearly 1% each.

ONGC has dropped 1.5% to Rs 1,206. Hindalco is down 1% at Rs 146.

HLL and ITC has also dropped 1% each at Rs 184 and Rs 181, respectively.

HDFC Bank has declined 2.6% to Rs 729, and HDFC is down 1.6% at Rs 1,140. SBI is down 1.3% at Rs 896. ICICI Bank is also in red at Rs 561.

Cipla has slipped 1.6% to Rs 430.

Bajaj Auto and Tata Motors are down over 1% each at Rs 1,978 and Rs 622, respectively. Hero Honda at Rs 828 and Maruti at Rs 647 are also trading in the negative zone.

Out of 1,731 stocks traded so far, 444 have moved up, 1,252 have dropped and the rest are unchanged.
