Sensex rallies; Jaiprakash Associates gains 5%

The Sensex is now at 11,177 - up 146 points.

Earlier in the day the Sensex opened positive at 11,065, but soon slipped into the negative zone to a low of 11,008 on account of some selling in early trades. However, fresh buying in realty and metal stocks helped the index rally to a high of 11,210.

Jaiprakash Associates has rallied 5% at Rs 117.

Reliance Infrastrusture, Tata Motors and Sterlite have increased  over 4% each at Rs 688, Rs 246 and Rs 404, respectively.

Tata Steel has moved up nearly 3.5% to Rs 267, Reliance Communications and DLF have advanced 3% each at Rs 225 and Rs 237, respectively.

 

ICICI Bank,Larsen& Toubro and Wipro are over 2% each  at Rs 451,Rs 88 and Rs 279, respectively.

Hindalco, Ranbaxy,SBI, Reliance and Maruti are above 1.5% each at Rs 56, Rs 188, Rs 1330, Rs 1748 and Rs 852.
