Although buying has inched up in power, select auto and other old economy stocks, the market is displaying a range-bound trend in the afternoon trades due to steady gains in heavyweights and tech stocks. The Sensex is now up 60 points at 6,663. The Nifty is firm at 2,104 - up 24 points. Reliance (up Rs 6 or 1.11% to Rs 540) is trading in a narrow range. ITC and HLL are trading flat at Rs 1,311 and Rs 144, respectively. Reliance Energy has surged 3.17% (Rs 17) to Rs 541. While BHEL has added 1.25% (Rs 10) to Rs 779, Tata Power is up 1.91% (Rs 7) at Rs 398. Hero Honda has gained 2.48% (Rs 14) to Rs 585. While Tata Motors has jumped 3.12% (Rs 16) to Rs 521, Maruti is up 1.46% (Rs 7) at Rs 468. Bajaj has erased most of its gains on profit-taking, and is now up Rs 3 at Rs 1,134. Infosys is still up a per cent (Rs 13) at Rs 2,102. Wipro and Satyam are still trading with marginal gains at Rs 750 and Rs 411, respectively. SBI is up a per cent (Rs 5) at Rs 657. While HDFC Bank has moved up 1.19% (Rs 6) to Rs 525, ICICI Bank is trading with a steady gain of Rs 2 at Rs 373. Bharti (up Rs 8 or 3.66% to Rs 223) is trading on a firm note. While Hindalco has gained 1.63% (Rs 23) to Rs 1,450, Zee has added 1.52% (Rs 3) to Rs 174. L&T, however, after adding gains in the first hald, is now down Rs 5 at Rs 977. |
