Sensex range-bound; breadth turns negative

The Sensex is now in a narrow range of 30-odd points (10,910-10,940) and is now up 68 points at 10,928.

Wipro is up 3% at Rs 536. Grasim and TCS have gained 2% each at Rs 1,962 and Rs 1,895, respectively.

The market breath is slightly negative. Out of 2,475 stocks traded so far, 1,236 have declined, 1,174 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.

Pratibha Industries has soared over 14% to Rs 234. Patspi India, Suashis Diamond, Indotech, PBA Infrastrcuture, ETC Network, Zee, Amforge, Indiabulls, Indiainfoline, UTV Software, Gitanjali Gems, Escorts, Deccan Chronicle, Areva, Ceat, Hindustan Zinc and GTL have posted significant gains.

United Phosphorous has dropped 4% to Rs 261. DCM Shriram Consolidated, Ind-Swift, Unitech, Surya Pharma, RPG Life Science, Southern Petro, Jindal Saw Pipes, Assam Company, Tourism Finance, Aksh Optifibre and Sintex, FDC, G E Shipping, IndsuInd Bank and Indo Rama Synthetics are on slippery ground.
