Sensex range-bound, down 33 pts

The market is displaying a range-bound trend in the afternoon trades as steady selling pressure continues in old and new economy stocks.

The Sensex, as a result, is now down 33 points at 6,422, while the Nifty is weak at 1,980 - down 14 points.

ONGC (down Rs 5 to Rs 874) and ITC (down Rs 9 to Rs 1,460) are largely unchanged from their earlier losses. While HLL is down a rupee at Rs 132, Reliance is marginally up at Rs 545.

Infosys is trading with a per cent loss (Rs 18) at Rs 2,043. While Wipro has declined 1.44% (Rs 9) to Rs 638, Satyam is down a per cent (Rs 4) at Rs 426.

SBI (down Rs 3 to Rs 613), HDFC Bank (down Rs 5 to Rs 534) and ICICI Bank (down Rs 3 to Rs 389) are trading at subdued levels.

Bajaj and Maruti are down a per cent each at Rs 1,115 (down Rs 6) and Rs 433 (down Rs 4), respectively.

Hindalco has gained 1.17% (Rs 14) to Rs 1,215, while BHEL is up a per cent (Rs 5) at Rs 835.
