Sensex range-bound; Hindalco surges 3%

The Sensex is moving in a narrow range of 50-odd points. The low of 10,901, and a high of 10,951. The index is now up 58 points at 10,937.

Hindalco has surged 3% to Rs 161. ONGC has moved up over 2% to Rs 1,216.

TCS and ITC are up nearly 2% each at Rs 1,865 and Rs 177, respectively.

SBI, NTPC and Wipro have advanced 1.5% each to Rs 976, Rs 138 and Rs 524, respectively.

Grasim has added 1.2% to Rs 1,920, and Cipla has spurted 1% to Rs 585.

HDFC Bank has slipped 1.3% to Rs 757.

The market breadth continues to remain negative. Out of 2,458 stocks traded so far, 1,461 have declined, 917 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.
