Sensex range-bound; Suzlon, Nalco rally

The Sensex is moving in a narrow range of 9890-9930, and is now up 58 points at 9907.

BHEL has rallied 5% to Rs 1,786. Larsen & Toubro is up nearly 2% at Rs 2,140.

Hindalco and Tata Steel are steady with gains of 2.6% and 1.6% each at Rs 165 and Rs 402, respectively.

Tata Motors has surged nearly 3% to Rs 707. Maruti has added 1.7% to Rs 759. Hero Honda is up 1.4% to Rs 863.

HDFC is up 1.7% at Rs 1,340.

Out of 2,530 stocks traded so far, 1,520 have declined, 936 have advanced and the rest are unmoved.

Celebrity Fashion and Nilkamal Plastics have soared over 10% each to Rs 228 and Rs 206, respectively. Suzlon has surged 8% to Rs 1,164. Nalco has rallied 6% to Rs 272. HMT, Crompton Greaves, TVS Motors, Jindal Saw, VSNL, Godrej Consumers, Zee, Mahindra & Mahindra, Asian Paints and Engineers India are up 3-5% each.

Polaris has slumped 9% to Rs 118. Mawana Sugars, Munjal Auto, DCM Shriram, Bombay Rayon, Essar Shipping, Jindal Stainless, Alfa Laval, Ramco Systems and Kotak Bank have declined over 3% each.
