Sensex range bound; Tata Steel, DLF surge 5%

The Sensex is moving side ways in early noon trades and is now down 79 points at 12,056.

Tata Steel and DLF have surged 5% each to Rs 277 and Rs 245, respectively.

ICICI Bank and Ranbaxy have gained 4% each to Rs 549 and Rs 177, respectively. Tata Motors, Reliance Communications, Reliance Infrastructure and BHEL have advanced 2.5% each.

Larsen & Toubro has added 2% at Rs 974. Jaiprakash Associates, Maruti Suzuki, Tata Power and Grasim have also moved up.

On the other hand, HDFC, Infosys and TCS have slumped around 4.5% each to Rs 1,871, Rs 1,559 and Rs 638, respectively.

 

Mahindra & Mahindra has shed 3.5% at Rs 531. ITC has dropped 3% to Rs 199.

Wipro, Reliance, Sterlite, SBI, HDFC Bank, NTPC, Bharti Airtel and Hindalco have also declined.

The market breadth is fairly positive. Out of 2,484 stocks traded, around 54% have advanced while 41% have declined.
