Sensex rebounds; cement stocks spurt

The Sensex has rebounded into positive zone and is now up 29 points at 10,833.

Cement stocks are witnessing fresh buying. ACC and Grasim have spurted 2% each to Rs 774 and Rs 1,899, respectively. Gujarat Ambuja has added 1.8% to Rs 99.55.

ITC has moved up 1% to Rs 177. Tata Power, Dr.Reddy's, NTPC and ICICI Bank are the other notable gainers among the Sensex stocks.

Satyam and Hindalco have slipped over 1% each to Rs 820 and Rs 159, respectively.

The market breadth is marginally negative. Out of 2,158 stocks traded so far, 1,051 have declined, 1,040 have advanced and 67 are unchanged.

TTK Prestige has hit the 20% upper limit at Rs 163. HCL Infosys, Wartsila, Reliance Natural Resources, Havells India, Everest Kanto and Hexaware are the other significant gainers.

Rane Holdings and DCW have dropped 4% each to Rs 196 and Rs 8.58, respectively. Swaraj Mazda, Sathavahana, Shoppers' Stop, Escorts, GTL, FACT, Zee, Bombay Dyeing and GSK Consumers are in declining mode.
