Sensex rebounds; DLF soars 4%

The Sensex has rebounded into the positive zone and is now up 30 points at 9,065. Earlier in the day, the index opened 96 points lower at 8,939, touched a low of 8,922 in opening trades. The index, thereafter, rebounded into the positive zone and touched a high of 9,100.

DLF has soared over 4% to Rs 154. Reliance has rallied 3% to Rs 1,305.

Maruti and Sterlite have surged around 2% each at Rs 612 and Rs 259, respectively.

Jaiprakash Associates and ACC have moved up nearly 2% each to Rs 69 and Rs 555, respectively.

Bharti Airtel, Tata Motors and NTPC have advanced around 1.5% each to Rs 643, Rs 134 and Rs 177, respectively.

 

ONGC, Ranbaxy and Wipro are up around 1% each at Rs 686, Rs 207 and Rs 212, respectively.

HDFC has plunged 3.4% to Rs 1,384, and ICICI Bank has shed 2.3% at Rs 377.

Reliance Infrastructure has slipped 1.8% to Rs 510, and Mahindra & Mahindra has declined 1.4% to Rs 295.

SBI is down 1% at Rs 1,089.

The market breadth is fairly negative - out of 2,241 stocks traded so far, 1,171 have declined, 962 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.
