Sensex rebounds in late trades

The Sensex has rebounded into the positive zone and is now up 51 points at 8,954.

Updated at 1452 hrs

The Sensex is now down 18 points at 8,885.

Ranbaxy has slumped over 17% to Rs 172. ICICI Bank has plunged 4.5% to Rs 325, and HDFC has tumbled 3.3% to Rs 1,213.

DLF has shed 1.7% at Rs 152. Hindalco and Wipro have slipped nearly 1.5% each to Rs 40 and Rs 215, respectively.

Tata Power and SBI are down over 1% each to Rs 736 and Rs 1,027, respectively.

Tata Motors has soared over 5% to Rs 147.

 

Grasim, Sterlite and Reliance Communications have surged around 2% each to Rs 1,439, Rs 252 and Rs 158, respectively.

TCS and Infosys have moved up 1.5% each to Rs 487 and Rs 1,233, respectively.

Reliance and Maruti are up 1% each at Rs 1,280 and Rs 670, respectively.
