Sensex rebounds, Tata Steel surges 4%

The Sensex opened 75 points lower at 10,001, and touched a low of 9,995 in opening trades. The index thereafter has recovered and rebounded into the positive zone. The Sensex is now up 60 points at 10,138.

Tata Steel has surged over 4% to Rs 231. Sterlite and Ranbaxy have gained 3.3% each at Rs 280 and Rs 226, respectively.

Mruti has rallied 2.8% to Rs 551. Tata Motors and Hindustan Unilever have advanced 2.5% each to Rs 178 and Rs 163, respectively.

DLF, Wipro and Jaiprakash Associates have advaned over 2% each to Rs 284, Rs 86 and Rs 255, respectively.

 

Mahindra & Mahindra has added nearly 2% to Rs 314. Reliance Communications and SBI are up 1.3% each to Rs 213 and Rs 1,313, respectively.

ONGC has slumped nearly 4% to Rs 705. TCS and Reliance have slipped 1.3% each to Rs 503 and Rs 1,343, respectively.
