Sensex rebounds; tech stocks lead

The Sensex has rebounded into the positive zone and is now up 12 points at 10,594.

Wipro has surged 3.6% to Rs 288.

TCS, Satyam and ITC have gained 2.3% each at Rs 507, Rs 279 and Rs 166, respectively.

ONGC and ACC have rallied 2% each to Rs 820 and Rs 533, respectively.

HDFC Bank has advanced 1.7% to Rs 1,106, and Reliance has added 1.5% to Rs 1,418.

Larsen & Toubro, Infosys, Tata Steel, Ranbaxy and Mahindra & Mahindra are up over 1% each.

Reliance Infrastructure has plunged 5% to Rs 530. Grasim and NTPC have slumped 4.5% each to Rs 1,310 and Rs 159, respectively.

 

BHEL has rallied 4% to Rs 1,261. Maruti has tumbled over 3% to Rs 656.

ICICI Bank has declined 2.5% to Rs 404. Sterlite and Reliance Communications are down around 2% each at Rs 292 and Rs 254, respectively.

The market breadth has turned marginally positive - out of 2,385 stocks traded so far, 1,230 have advanced, 1,087 have declined and 68 are unchanged.
