Sensex rebounds, up 10pts; ITC surges 3%

The Sensex has rebounded into the positive zone and is now up 10 points at 14,222.

ITC and Reliance Energy have surged nearly 3% each to Rs 177 and Rs 520, respectively.

Gujarat Ambuja has rallied 1.8% to Rs 137. Satyam and ONGC have advanced around 1.5% each to Rs 471 and Rs 927, respectively.

Hero Honda, ICICI Bank, SBI, Ranbaxy and NTPC are up over 1% each at Rs 725, Rs 968, Rs 1,168, Rs 407 and Rs 144, respectively.

Tata Steel has plunged nearly 8% (Rs 40) to Rs 479. HLL and Hindalco have slipped 1% each to Rs 212 and Rs 179, respectively.

Out of 2,543 stocks traded so far, 1,306 have declined, 1,175 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.
