Sensex rebounds, up 21pts; NTPC up 2%

The Sensex has rebounded into the positive zone and is now up 21 points at 14,529.

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has soared over 7% to Rs 1,989. NTPC has surged nearly 2% to Rs 164.

SBI and HDFC have rallied over 1.5% each to Rs 1,344 and Rs 1,842, respectively. Bajaj Auto has spurted over 1% to Rs 2,219.

HDFC Bank has shed 2.7% at Rs 1,115. Reliance Energy, Hindalco and ITC have dropped around 1.5% each to Rs 546, Rs 142 and Rs 163, respectively.

Grasim has slipped 1.3% to Rs 2,475. HLL, Infosys and Reliance Communications are down over 1% each at Rs 200, Rs 1,930 and Rs 516, respectively.

Out of 2,538 stocks traded so far, 1,327 have declined, 1,126 have advanced and 85 are unchanged.
