Sensex rebounds, up 35pts

The Sensex has rebounded into the positive zone and is now up 35 points to 16,880.

Mahindra & Mahindra has dropped 2.8% to Rs 762. Wipro and Bajaj Auto have slipped 1.8% each to Rs 435 and Rs 2,529, respectively.

SBI and Reliance Communications have slipped 1.5% each to Rs 1,806 and Rs 590, respectively.

Reliance Energy and Larsen & Toubro have shed 1.3% each to Rs 1,079 and Rs 2,861, respectively.

Tata Steel and NTPC are down 1% each at Rs 741 and Rs 195, respectively.

HDFC Bank has soared over 3% to Rs 1,390.

Hindalco and Bharti Airtel have surged over 2% each to Rs 166 and Rs 966, respectively.

Ranbaxy has gained 1.5% at Rs 423. Hindustan Unilever and Cipla are up over 1% each at Rs 227 and Rs 169, respectively.

Out of 2,806 stocks traded so far, 1,697 have declined, 1,049 have advanced and 60 are unchanged.
