Sensex rebounds, up 40pts

The Sensex has rebounded into the positive terrain after touching a low of 15,065. The Sensex is now at 15,215, up 45 points.

HUL and Wipro have advanced over 2% each to Rs 274 and Rs 476, respectively.

HDFC and TCS have gained nearly 2% each to Rs 2,408 and Rs 508, respectively.

TCS, SBI and Infosys have added over 1% each to Rs 508, Rs 1,676 and Rs 2,006, respectively.

Sun Pharma and Tata Steel have declined over 2% each to Rs 1,162 and Rs 433, respectively.

ITC, Hero Honda and Tata Power are marginally down.

The NSE Nifty is now at 4,518, up five points. Among the other major gainers on the NSE Nifty are BPCL which has gained over 3% to Rs 484. Ambuja Cement and Power Grid have advanced 2-2.5% each.

The market breadth is positive - out of 2,179 shares, 1,178 have advanced, while 927 have declined.
