Sensex rebounds, up 48pts; L&T down 3%

The Sensex has rebounded into the positive zone and is now up 48 points at 9,025.

Larsen & Toubro and BHEL have slumped 3% each to Rs 616 and Rs 1,415, respectively. Tata Motors has also tumbled nearly 3% to Rs 172.

Tata Steel and Reliance Communications have dropped around 2.5% each to Rs 172 and Rs 156, respectively.

Hindustan Unilever has slipped 2% to Rs 228. Hindalco and SBI have declined 1.7% each to Rs 44 and Rs 945, respectively.

HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank and Grasima are down around 1.5% each at Rs 829, Rs 330 and Rs 1,449, respectively.

 

Sterlite and HDFC have gained 2% each at Rs 308 and Rs 1,379, respectively.

TCS, Sun Pharma and Infosys have advanced around 1.5% each to Rs 514, Rs 1,011 and Rs 1,295, respectively.

NTPC and Maruti are up 1% each at Rs 177 and Rs 726, respectively.

The market breadth is positive - out of 2,468 stocks traded so far, 1,293 have advanced, 1,080 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
