Sensex rebounds, up 6 pts

The Sensex has rebounded into the green to 7,353 (up 6 pts) following steady to firm buying in select old and new economy stocks.

Reliance Industries and Reliance Energy are up a per cent each at Rs 666 and Rs 662, respectively. ITC, however, has tumbled 2.30% (Rs 39) to Rs 1,697.

HDFC Bank is up 1.75% (Rs 11) at Rs 638, while SBI is still trading with a per cent gain (Rs 6) at Rs 722.

ACC has advanced 2.52% (Rs 11) to Rs 436. Other cement majors are marginally up.

Bajaj (down Rs 21 or 1.48%  to Rs 1,400) and Hero Honda (down Rs 22 or 3.33% to Rs 633) are still exhibiting weak trends. Tata Motors and Maruti are up a per cent each at Rs 473 (up Rs 5) and Rs 457 (up Rs 5), respectively.

BHEL has added nearly 2% (Rs 18) to Rs 918, and HDFC is up a per cent (Rs 9) at Rs 900. Tisco has added 1.72% (Rs 6) to Rs 369. Tata Power, however, is down 1.24% (Rs 5) at Rs 398.
