Sensex rebounds, up 72pts; Ambuja Cem up 6%

The Sensex has rebounded into the positive zone and is now up 72 points at 17,632.

Bharti Airtel has plunged 4.5% to Rs 925. TCS has tumbled nearly 3% to Rs 1,076.

Reliance has shed 2.5% at Rs 2,406. Satyam, Maruti and Tata Steel have dropped 2% each to Rs 450, Rs 1,053 and Rs 835, respectively.

Reliance Communications has slipped 2.3% to Rs 717. Tata Motors, BHEL and Wipro are down over 1% each at Rs 771, Rs 2,027 and Rs 495, respectively.

Ambuja Cements has soared 5.7% to Rs 148. ICICI Bank has surged 3.5% to Rs 1,060.

Reliance Energy, Mahindra & Mahindra, HDFC and ACC have advanced around 2% each to Rs 1,363, Rs 744, Rs 2,450 and Rs 1,010, respectively.

ITC and Hindalco have gained around 1.5% each at Rs 178 and Rs 177, respectively.

SBI and Cipla are up 1% each at Rs 1,686 and Rs 180, respectively.

Out of 2,715 stocks traded so far, 1,336 have declined, 1,307 have advanced and 72 are unchanged.
