Sensex rebounds, up 74pts; TCS, BHEL surge 5%

The Sensex has rebounded into the positive zone and is now up 74 points at 9,101.

TCS and BHEL have soared 5.3% each to Rs 555 and Rs 1,368, respectively.

Sterlite has surged 4.3% to Rs 241. HDFC and Mahindra & Mahindra rallied over 3.5% each to Rs 1,468 and Rs 279, respectively.

Tata Power has gained 3% at Rs 675. Maruti and Infosys have moved up 2.7% each to Rs 547 and Rs 1,220, respectively.

Bharti Airtel and Hindalco are up 2% each at Rs 668 and Rs 54, respectively.

Jaiprakash Associates has plunged 4% to Rs 54. Reliance Infrastructure have slumped 3.5% to Rs 501.

 

Tata Motors and Tata Steel have shed 2.5% each at Rs 136 and Rs 151, respectively.

Larsen & Toubro and Grasim have slipped over 2% each to Rs 735 and Rs 899, respectively.

Reliance Communications and SBI are down 1.8% each at Rs 195 and Rs 1,085, respectively.

The market breadth is fairly negative - out of 1,923 stocks traded, 1,115 have declined, 751 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.
