Sensex rebounds, up 79pts; DLF gains 2%

The Sensex opened with a negative gap of 83 points at 14,726, and slipped to a low of 14,677. The index has rebounded into the positive zone and is now up 79 points at 14,888.

The NSE Nifty is up 38 points at 4,541.

DLF has surged over 2% to Rs 616. BHEL, Jaiprakash Associates and Grasim have moved up nearly 1.5% each to Rs 1,823, Rs 211 and Rs 2,705, respectively.

Reliance Energy, Reliance Communications and Bharti Airtel have advanced over 1% each to Rs 1,205, Rs 488 and Rs 751, respectively.

ICICI Bank and HDFC Bank have dropped around 2.5% each to Rs 737 and Rs 1,207, respectively.

HDFC has shed 2.3% at Rs 2,175. Mahindra & Mahindra has declined 1.5% to Rs 628.
