Sensex rebounds, up 86pts; Bharti gains 4%

The Sensex has rebounded into the positive zone and is now up 86 points at 14,896.

The NSE Nifty is up 40 points at 4,543.

Reliance Energy has soared 4.5% to Rs 1,243. Bharti Airtel has surged 3.7% to Rs 770.

Reliance Communications has rallied 3.3% to Rs 499. TCS has gained 2.8% at Rs 814, and BHEL has added 2.5% to Rs 1,842.

Satyam, ONGC and ACC have advanced over 2% each to Rs 374, Rs 1,004 and Rs 787, respectively.

Ranbaxy and Cipla are up 1.7% each at Rs 446 and Rs 204, respectively.

HDFC Bank has plunged nearly 4% to Rs 1,190. Jaiprakash (JP) Associates has shed 3.3% to Rs 201.

Tata Steel has tumbled nearly 3% to Rs 640. HDFC and Hindalco have dropped around 2.5% each to Rs 2,170 and Rs 161, respectively.

SBI is down 1.7% at Rs 1,605.

Out of 2,482 stocks traded so far, 1,804 have declined, 624 have advanced and 54 are unchanged.
