Sensex rebounds, up 88pts; NTPC up 3%

The Sensex has rebounded into the positive zone and is now up 88 points at 18,826.

NTPC has soared 2.8% to Rs 260. Reliance Communications has rallied 2.5% to Rs 712.

HDFC has surged 2% to Rs 2,561.

Hindalco, Bharti Airtel and Larsen & Toubro have gained 1.7% each at Rs 210, Rs 848 and Rs 4,241, respectively.

ONGC has moved up 1.6% to Rs 1,198. Reliance Energy is up over 1% at Rs 1,839.

Wipro has plunged 2.7% to Rs 445. Infosys, Mahindra & Mahindra and ICICI Bank have slipped 1.7% each to Rs 1,612, Rs 716 and Rs 1,128, respectively.

Hindustan Unilever and ITC are down over 1% each at Rs 196 and Rs 176, respectively.
