Sensex rebounds, up 97pts; ONGC, Tata Motors down 3%

The Sensex opened 29 points lower at 9,442, but an intial rebound the index slipped into red to a low of 9,430. The index, however, has rebounded into the positive zone and is now up 97 points at 9,568.

Jaiprkash Associates and Tata Power have surged around 3% each to Rs 81 and Rs 711, respectively.

ITC, DLF and Reliance have rallied 2.7% each to Rs 180, Rs 171 and Rs 1,489, respectively.

Wipro has gained 2.5% at Rs 248. HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank have added 2% each to Rs 961 and Rs 362, respectively.

BHEL, Infosys and SBI are up nearly 2% each.

 

ONGC and Tata Motors have plunged around 3% each to Rs 755 and Rs 158, respectively.

Hindalco has shed 2.5% at Rs 49. NTPC and Mahindra & Mahindra have dropped around 2% each to Rs 178 and Rs 366, respectively.

Ranbaxy and HDFC have slipped nearly 2% each to Rs 161 and Rs 1,536, respectively.

Tata Steel and Bharti Airtel are down over 1% each.
