Sensex recovers again, down 600pts; SBI up 1%

The Sensex has once again bounced back from the lower levels, and is now down 594 points at 10,734.

ICICI Bank has slumped nearly 18% to Rs 372. Jaiprakash Associates has plunged over 15% to Rs 77.

Reliance Infrastructure has tumbled over 14.5% to Rs 545, and Reliance Communications has shed 13.5% at Rs 260.

Tata Steel has crashed 11.5% to Rs 300. Larsen & Toubro has dropped 8.8% to Rs 882.

Satyam has slipped nearly 8% to Rs 244. BHEL and Hindalco have declined around 7% each to Rs 1,362 and Rs 85, respectively.

HDFC and Grasim are down 6.7% each at Rs 1,762 and Rs 1,470, respectively.

 

SBI up nearly 1% at Rs 1,334 is the sole gainer among the index stocks.

The market breadth is extremely negative - out of 2,527 stocks traded so far, 2,209 have declined, 278 have advanced and 40 are unchanged.
