Sensex recovers, down 157pts; L&T, Infosys weak

The Sensex opened with a negative gap of 268 points at 14,651, and soon touched a low of 14,592. The index has recovered from the day's low and is now down 157 points at 14,762.

There are no gainers among the index stocks.

Larsen & Toubro and Infosys have shed 2.7% each to Rs 2,480 and Rs 1,831, respectively.

Mahindra & Mahindra, Reliance Communications, Bharti Airtel, Wipro and SBI have dropped around 2.5% each to Rs 640, Rs 507, Rs 853, Rs 456 and Rs 1,512, respectively.

ITC, Reliance Energy and Satyam are down over 2% each to Rs 164, Rs 750 and Rs 440, respectively.
